PETER JACKSON He was born in Birmingham, and lost his sight as a result of measles when one and a half. He went to the Birmingham Royal Institute for the Blind which is where he was taught to read and write braille, and introduced to the piano. His ambition was to be a jazz pianist, and played at parties and in working-men's clubs in and around Birmingham. When he was at the Royal Normal College for the Blind, studying music, piano-tuning and typing, he underwent a spiritual crisis, and became a committed Christian. This fact has influenced and controlled his life ever since. During a Gospel Mission in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Peter met Margaret; they married in 1962. They have three children, Tim, Chris and Beth. The family
came to live in Ammanford in 1982, and have responsibilities in Ammanford
Evangelical Church.
