PETER JACKSON

He was born in Birmingham, and lost his sight as a result of measles when one and a half. He went to the Birmingham Royal Institute for the Blind which is where he was taught to read and write braille, and introduced to the piano. His ambition was to be a jazz pianist, and played at parties and in working-men's clubs in and around Birmingham.

When he was at the Royal Normal College for the Blind, studying music, piano-tuning and typing, he underwent a spiritual crisis, and became a committed Christian. This fact has influenced and controlled his life ever since.

During a Gospel Mission in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Peter met Margaret; they married in 1962.

They have three children, Tim, Chris and Beth. The family came to live in Ammanford in 1982, and have responsibilities in Ammanford Evangelical Church.
Peter travels extensively, communicating the "Good News" in churches, clubs, schools and prisons. He also makes cassettes,CD’s and videos of his playing, and has written two books about his life - "One day I'll see you", and “Heaven in sight”, as well as two songbooks and a book of poems - In verse proportions.

Peter & his wife Margaret have formed “Keynote Ministries”, in order to be able to undertake this work, and to enlist prayerful and practical support from fellow-Christians. They issue a twice-yearly diary and newsletter, and are always pleased to welcome new partners.
